My first workshop was a success!

Last Saturday was my very first Close To My Heart Scrapbooking Workshop.  I only had two ladies in attendance, but you got to start somewhere, right?  We all had a great time and both ladies want to commit to making it a monthly club and even offered to try and invite a friend or two.  They seemed very happy with their layouts and what they were able to accomplish AND learn (which is my favorite part).
Both of the ladies are going to be out of town during the next crop, so I've decided that I'm going to cancel the crop and hold an open house to introduce Close To My Heart to my friends, family and acquaintances.  I've got to start putting the plan in place.

I've had to attend training workshops for school both last week and this week.  I'm hoping once the training is over that I can put together another video for YouTube and enter some of the challenges that I follow.  I still say my husband should get two jobs so I could craft full-time.  For some reason, he's not buying into it.  Can't figure out why...sounds reasonable to me.

Since I had to take down my last layout and I haven't posted any art lately, I'm going to post a layout I did a while back that I'm quite fond of.  It's a layout of the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge.  If you ever visit the space coast of Florida (only an hour east of Orlando), you must make your way to this absolutely gorgeous National Refuge.  If I remember this correctly, it is actually home to more migratory birds than any other location in the country.  At any rate, it definitely will give you a picture of what the REAL Florida "was" like.  There is also a Manatee Observation Deck not far from the drive.  You can check out information at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge Website.  Anyway, here is the layout I did, highlighting some of the scenes.
