Videos are fun to make, but time intensive. In the past, I've waited until everyone had gone to bed and then I would record my tutorial, because if it's not my husband coughing in the background or yelling at the dog (or kids), it's my kids making noise, the cat jumping/clawing at the door to come in, my lab's tail smacking the table leg, and heaven-forbid the tv should be turned off. So the obvious downside to waiting until everyone's in bed is that .I'm up way too late. Anyway, this time I thought I would record the techniques and then just add narration when everyone had gone to bed. Quicker, right? Well, not so much. Being that I'm a teacher in my "real" life, it's easier for me to talk while I'm doing the project...it's more natural. Narrating after the fact had several issues. First, something was off with either my software or headphone, because my video is being narrated by two different voices, a higher (cuter) one and a low one...my real voice. Second, some of my titles, photos, clips, etc. went by too fast, but didn't seem that way when editing it. And finally, I'm still up way to late. Go figure.
I'm thinking that I'm going to scrap the other tutorials I recorded and go back to my original way. There's at least two more tutorials that I've really been wanting to make, but time (and technology) just haven't been working out in my favor. Maybe within the next week or so.
Anyway, here's the video for the faux stitching and random stamping that I used in my Beautiful Day layout posted a few weeks back. Hope you like.
