Saturday's Card Artistry Projects

Here are the projects we did today in our card artistry class.  I wish I could take credit for all of these wonderful projects, but I can't.

The first project is a Treat Holder using papers from the Cherry-O Level 2 Paper Pack and the "You're Sweet" and "Tasty Treats" stamp sets.  I got the idea from Tresa Black's (aka The Stamp Goddess) YouTube video for a Halloween Treat Holder (which she credited to Chicknscratch on YouTube).

This next card was designed by another CTMH consultant, but I can't remember who. :(  I'll try and find it again, so I can give credit where credit is due.  I just thought it was so cute.  It uses the stamp sets "Over the Rainbow" and the sentiment is from July's Stamp of the Month "Happy Forever".

This cards in this project were inspired by Tresa Black and the box was inspired by Gloria at Happy Scrappin' 'n' Stampin'.  The envies and box top design were my design.  The cards and evelopes were made using "Hot Diggity", "You're Sweet", "Whooo Loves You" and the "Summer Wishes" stamp set from the Splendor Workshop-on-the-Go.  The top of the box was made using "A Posey" stamp set and the sentiment is from the "Something Splendid" August Stamp of the Month. I also used the Opaques Cherry-O Adhesive Gems.

"Family" Layout

Here is the second layout of the two layouts that we did in the montly scrap club using the Passages Workshop-on-the-Go.  I got the inspiration from the "Classical Look"  layout in Close To My Heart's How-to Book, "Imagine" on pages 68 - 69.  I really love how it turned out.  I used the embossing technique that I did in the virtual convention class ...without the "cracking"...(which also was highlighted on page 69) for the clock face.  I also modified a free file folder template that I found online for some hidden journaling. The focal photo mat is hinged and can be used for hidden journaling or additional photos.  I stamped the long skeleton key and sentiment on the file folder, and then stamped another skeleton key on a piece of scrap and cut it out, added a couple of pieces of ribbon from the Cocoa Ribbon Round and then popped it on top of the other key.  The oval dimensional bookplate was sponged with brown bag ink and then a light sponged layer of Barn Red ink.  I love how it turned out...completely accidental...but thrilled how it looks like leather...especially in person. :)  Once I get some photos added, I'll repost.

School's back in session...

and I've been one busy lady.  I'm glad the first week is over, now only 175 school days left!  LOL  Of course, it hasn't left a lot of time for much scrapbooking or cardmaking.  However, I finally got the second layout for Saturay's Scrap Club done.  I'll try and post it tomorrow evening.  (Can't wait until the 25th, when my friends and I drive over to Orlando to go to the Annual Scrapper's Dream Vacation at the Contemporary Resort at Disney World.  Four days of cropping!!!!!  I can't wait!!)  In the meantime, here's another layout that I did several months ago.  If I remember correctly, the flowers are Prima and the papers and other embellishments are My Mind's Eye.

One of August's Scrap Club Layouts

This is one of the two layouts we will be making on Saturday, August 14th.  We will cut the paper and stamp the images for this layout and complete an "original" layout.

See the link at the top of the page for more details and other class dates and times.

It's official...I'm published!

I almost forgot that it was August...the month I was told my layout would be published online at Scrapbooking.com.  It just dawned on me, so I went over to the site and there it was. :)  So exciting.
Here it is.....

$2, $4, $6, for 8...It’s YOU We Appreciate! Paper & Stickease Sale

From August 4 at 9 am (MDT) through August 11, while supplies last, you can purchase selected My Stickease® assortments for only $2, My Reflections® Level 1 kits for only $4, and My Reflections® Level 2 paper packets for only $6 on my MyCTMH® website.  Because these deals are so amazing, CTMH will not be offering these deals any other way.  So go to my website on August 4th and place your order.  Remember, it's "while quantities last", so don't delay!

A wonderfully generous CTMH consultant named Kristen Woodie put together an incredible list of the paper packs that are going up for sale in a few days.  I've added the link to the list at the top, so check it out, make your wish list and then go to my website on Wednesday to place your order.  That's what I'm going to do.

If you have any questions, just email or call me.

What a blast!

I held my first open house yesterday and I had so much fun!  Even the work I put into it was fun.  I had intended to post about it last night, but I made the mistake of sitting down (to get off my swollen feet) and I must have gone out almost instantly...I woke up around 1:30 a.m.  Ooops.

Anyway, I had six guests in attendance.  There were several ladies that I had not seen in a while, so it was such a pleasure to reconnect with them.  I sure hope that I see them more frequently.  I offered eight different projects.  One day I'll learn to edit myself better, but it's all good as everyone really seemed to have fun and loved the projects they made.

Kim M. was the lucky winner of the hostess rewards.  She won $80 in free product and a 1/2 price item of her choice.  I'm so happy for her.
Here is my table set up.  Of course, what I see is my cheap window treatments.  I'm finally getting some vertical blinds though.  They were supposed to have already been installed, but they're on backorder.   Just my luck.
I used my fireplace to display a board with August's Constant Campaign and Triple Play Offer, as well as some of my favorite CTMH products....at least out of the products I own at this time.  lol
A display of the current and future Stamp of the Month sets.
My How-To Books...Can't wait to add the others...especially the new "Magic" book.
I used my coffee table to display catalogs and my prize basket.

I set my computer armoire up to encourage people to sign up for my website, Meetup group and blog. But wouldn't you know it, AT&T struck again. Lost service for quite some time and then it was spotty when it was "working". Did I mention that luck thing.
I set my craft room up for sign-ups to upcoming classes.
Isn't this cake just gorgeous?!  Publix did a wonderful job.  Thanks to Sherri Tozzi, my upline for offering this suggestion.  My kids would also like to thank her...as there was plenty left over.
Zoe had to be crated for the event, as she's not really an outside dog and at the nearly 100 degrees outside, I wasn't going to put her out there. She LOVES attention from people, so leaving her out wasn't really an option, because she would have gotten worked up everytime the doorbell rang and then proceed to beat them up with her tail.  She was sooooo good.  She only whined once, for just a second, and it was only after we were talking about her...and she knew it.  I made it up to her later with peanut butter. :)
