December Stamp of the Month

Welcome to the CTMH December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!
December's Stamp of the Month is called.....
****Mad About You****

The blog hop makes a circle so if you are starting here just continue until you make your way back and you will have made it through them all.  If you have already started and are coming from Michelle Loncar's blog, "Show and Tell, with Michelle"then you are on the right track.

When deciding what to create, I was inspired by the words in one of the stamps in this month's stamp set..."Over the moon in love with you".  It made me think of my kids, as I'm over the moon in love with them.  I then flipped through my Art Philosophy handbook for 3D project ideas, when I came across the pocket door hangers.  I thought it would be nice to create a little gift for each of my kids to remind them how much I love them.

I painted the corrugated (milepost) shapes with pearl paint.  After it was dry, I added silver glitz gel to the small star.  I also used the glitz gel to add little dots, rather than using pearls, gems, or brads.

One thing that is so much fun about clear stamps is being able to put more than one on a block and create your own background stamp. :)  That's what I did (as shown in the picture below) to create the background for this project.  After stamping it several times, I filled in any empty spaces with a small heart stamp.  The other "special" thing I did with this one, was to cut the wide dark chocolate ribbon down to about a half to two thirds its normal width and then frayed the edges.  I love the look of frayed ribbon.

Here's a look at the entire stamp set.

Remember, if you love what you've seen so far along your SOTM Blog Hop journey, and you want your own "Mad About You" stamp set or want to get it for the amazingly low price of $5, be sure to contact your Close To My Heart Independent Consultant.  If you don't already have a consultant, I'd love to be yours.  You can find details on the "Stamp of the Month" here on my blog, or by clicking on the "Stamp of the Month" tab at the top of the page or by clicking on the "Shop with Me" link near the top right.  Of course, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

If you have time, take a moment or two to check out the rest of my blog.  If you enjoy your visit, then please consider "Following Me", signing up to receive blog updates, and/or leaving a comment (we all love comments...the nice ones anyway), then be sure to continue along on the hop by heading over to  Lisa Sargent's blog, "Stamp Happy" and check out her creation.

If for some reason you get lost along the way, you can always find a list of all this month's CTMH SOTM Blog Hop participants on Helen's Onulak's blog.

Happy hopping!

  1. Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog post. Not sure how I missed seeing your project. Love it! I finally worked on the courage to make a fry box and it was easier than I thought, so now I must try this fun project. Happy New Year!

  3. Barbra...since I can hardly remember what I ate for lunch yesterday, remembering the size I cut this is a little fuzzy. :) I just measured the final project and it's just about 11" at the longest point. But if I remember correctly, I cut it to "fit page". Hope that helps.
