December Stamp of the Month

December's Stamp of the Month is called.....

****Mad About You****

When deciding what to create, I was inspired by the words in one of the stamps in this month's stamp set..."Over the moon in love with you".  It made me think of my kids, as I'm over the moon in love with them.  I then flipped through my Art Philosophy handbook for 3D project ideas, when I came across the pocket door hangers.  I thought it would be nice to create a little gift for each of my kids to remind them how much I love them.

I painted the corrugated (milepost) shapes with pearl paint.  After it was dry, I added silver glitz gel to the small star.  I also used the glitz gel to add little dots, rather than using pearls, gems, or brads.

One thing that is so much fun about clear stamps is being able to put more than one on a block and create your own background stamp. :)  That's what I did (as shown in the picture below) to create the background for this project.  After stamping it several times, I filled in any empty spaces with a small heart stamp.  The other "special" thing I did with this one, was to cut the wide dark chocolate ribbon down to about a half to two thirds its normal width and then frayed the edges.  I love the look of frayed ribbon.
