The Play Date Cafe #107 & Freshly Made Sketches #10

I managed to squeeze in one more project before having to go back to work tomorrow.  Oh, how I wish I could  craft all day...LOL.

Anyway, I love color challenges and often want to play along at The Play Date Cafe, but often I'm just not able to due to time constraints.  This weekend though, I had a little time and went over to their blog, only to find a true challenge. Orange, black and white.  Those colors bring to mind Halloween and my high school mascot...a tiger, neither of which I find particularly inspiring, so I kept the challenge in the back of my head.  This morning, after "blurfing" (blogging + surfing; a term coined by my CTMH sister, and paper crafter extraordinaire, Vicki Wizniuk) for longer than I'd care to admit, I found a technique called embedded embossing and a blog called Freshly Made Sketches.  These got the wheels turning in my head and here's what I came up with...
It's difficult to tell in my photo, but the center panel is adhered with 3D foam tape.
You can kind of see here that the flowers look embedded into the background paper.   Cool, huh?
Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Other: SpongeMicro-tip scissors, Paper Trimmer3D Foam Tape, Liquid Glass, Pearl Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels), Swirls Embossing Folder (Provo Craft), 1.5" Create-a-Sticker Adhesive (Xyron), ATG Adhesive (Scotch), Big Shot Die Cut Machine (Sizzix)

Here are the challenges used to inspire my card.

I took some pictures to create a tutorial for Tuesday, but the Product Spotlight Blog Hop begins on Tuesday, so I'll post the tutorial on Wednesday....that's the plan anyway. :)
Until then...happy craftin'!
