March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the CTMH March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!
March's Stamp of the Month is called.....
****Sensational Seasons****

The blog hop makes a circle so if you are starting here just continue until you make your way back and you will have made it through them all.  If you have already started and are coming from Jen Rubio's blog, "Jen's Jewel Box", then you are on the right track.

It's been a month since my last post, which was actually for February's Stamp of the Month.  It's been a hard month.  It has been unbelievably busy, incredibly sad, and very worrisome (at times).  Thankfully, though, it's ending on an up-note.  At the beginning of the month, one of our 7th graders was accidentally shot and killed when a relative was showing a gun that he "didn't know was loaded".  Needless to say, it's always difficult when a young person...with so much ahead of them...needlessly loses their life, but it's especially difficult dealing with the grief of an entire school.  It breaks my heart to see people cry, especially children.  Thankfully, kids are so resilient.  I just hope and pray, though, that the lesson wasn't lost on them.

This event was soon followed by my daughter's pediatrician finding a "click" in her heartbeat.  She's been struggling with feelings of dizziness and light-headedness.   She actually passed out in Home Depot last July.  We then saw a pediatric cardiologist, where she had an echocardiogram.  Everything turned out fine, but he did find an "incidental finding".  There's a connection between her pulmonary artery and aorta, that is normally open prior to birth, but closes soon after.  Hers hasn't completely closed though...she's 14, but he doesn't believe it's anything to worry about.  So far the diagnosis is syncope...due to low blood pressure.  (Her diastolic number was 60 at the doctor's office).  He said because her blood pressure runs so low normally, that if she gets the least bit dehydrated, it wouldn't take much to drop it low enough to make her feel faint.  So he recommended that she stay well hydrated and increase her salt intake.  I'll just have to keep monitoring her progress.

Let's see...what else happend in February?  Well, I also began sponsoring a club called S.W.A.T....Students Working Against Tobacco.  It's exciting to see students actively working to make positive changes in their personal lives, in their school, and in their community.  I also spent a planning period a day (for the last couple of months) helping science research students prepare, as well as monitoring the them for two days at the local mall (I can thing of worse locations).  The day after (Sunday), I had to spend the entire day planning for the training I had to administer to the faculty at our school for an inservice on Monday.  I also prepared for and hosted a Crazy for Cards Class, Scrap Club and a Card Club workshop.  Did I mention I had been busy?

I've been so busy that I've only had time to "think" about my project.  I knew I wanted to create a card that was Beatrix Potter in nature, making it a perfect card for a baby shower gift or even a birth announcement.  I also knew that I wanted to watercolor.   The only thing I wasn't sure about is when I was going to get time to actually make the card.  I actually had to finish the card the evening it was due!  I really hate not making a deadline.  It stresses me out...something I don't really need any more of.  LOL  Anyway, I think it came together nicely.  I still feel like it's missing something, but I just can't put my finger on it.   Hmmm....  Oh well, I hope you like it.
