Punch It!

Here is the layout we will be creating at this month's scrapbook workshop.  If you are interested in attending the workshop (or in buying the kit), you can find the details regarding the upcoming class, and the supplies used, here.
With my personal photos.

The white photo mats are not included in the kit, but are meant to represent a suggested photo layout.

The title was inspired by the Cricut Nifty Fifties cartridge, with the asterisks being cut from it.

I have to tell you, I struggled with this layout.  I've worked on this layout for the past three days.  Well...not really days, but rather evenings...after work.  I think I struggled, because normally when I make layouts for my workshops, I start with the Workshop-on-the-Go layout and then generally make my second layout without having photos in mind, so I'm more free to design without constraints.  However, the first time I saw this paper pack, I instantly knew that it would be a perfect fit for the photos I had of part of our trip to Dollywood in 2002.  (Yes.  I'm behind.)  I spent the first afternoon surfing the internet looking for sketches and layout ideas.  I just needed some spark.  After a while, I found this layout at one of my favorite sites, Scrapbook Genrations.

I'll work on the second one this weekend and post it as soon as it is done. :)

ETA...
Since the pages are dimensional, my scanner casts shadows and creates blurry spots.  Here are some close-ups to show you the details.

Until next time...
