A Pop of Color

It's a color challenge this week over at the Heart 2 Heart.  The challenge is to use black and white, and a "pop" of any other color you choose.  I'm not sure why I don't do more black and white cards, because every time I see one, I'm never disappointed.  Especially when they are combined with just one color.

I thoroughly enjoyed making this card.  Not often does a card end the way I originally imagine it in my head.  However, I can say that this one did and I'm so pleased with how it turned out.

First, I punched the bottom of the card base with a lattice border punch and embellished it with sparkles.
I stamped black ink on white cardstock and then used the same image to stamp white daisy ink onto black cardstock and then embossed it with white.  Stamping and embossing in white really lets the white pop off the black.  I then layered both pieces onto a piece of amethyst cardstock, secured the ribbon in place and adhered the card base with foam tape.
For the ribbon, I braided three pieces of seam binding and then tied a bow on it.   For the Cricut flower, I stamped and sponged it with amethyst ink before rolling it.  I then attached it with foam tape.  Finally, the sentiment was stamped in black on an oval shape that I cut from the Cricut, embellished with bitty sparkles, and attached it to the card with foam tape.

To play along, all you have to do is 1) use mostly CTMH products 2) use black, white and a pop of another color and 3) link your project back to Heart 2 Heart from your blog post or online gallery.  If you are linking from a blog, you must link directly to the actual post, not your entire blog.  You also need to mention H2H in your blog post.  Finally, we do ask that you consider turning off word verification, as it does make it easier for the design team to leave comments, as well as visitors to your blog. ;)

Don't have any CTMH products?  That's an easy fix!  Simply contact your local CTMH consultant (or go here to find one near you) or you can place an order by going to my website.

Now it's your turn.  I can't wait to see what color you will use.

Until next time...

  5. What size did you cut the flower or is it several flowers layered over each other?

  6. I made numerous cuts, so I'm not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure I cut it at 4", which was my largest try.
