CTMH Convention Album Contest Layout #3

The following is the third layout of my contest submission.  It focuses on the couple that I studied the Bible with and how we came to meet and how my life, particularly my spiritual life has changed...for the better, I may add...since we met.
In the original baptism photos, the tile was a bright yellow with green and the water was very aquamarine.  Completely did not work with the papers or other photo, so I changed the colors to create a more coordinated sepia tone.
I saw this idea at a booth at the StampFest event that I went to a  month or so ago. I love the layers of paper, but to save paper and eliminate weight, I cut the centers out of the olive and amethyst cardstocks and used that paper for mats.
I stamped both the front and back of the Cricut Art Philosophy flowers with the script in the Universal Background stamp and sponged inks on the edges of both sides.  I then gave them various centers.  For the leaves, I used an embossing stylus to create the veins, then bent the leaves at all the creases, sanded the surface and then finally sponged desert sand along the edges.

Not easy to see here, but on the left, you can see two post cards sticking out.  I created a pocket out of the  bottom photo in order to store two post cards that a friend gave me.  One post card is a picture of the baptismal pool, while the other is an exterior picture of the Assembly Hall where I was baptized.
I sandwiched the Olive twill ribbon between two layers of journaling and added a rhinestone brad to 1) dress it up and 2) to hide the little gap between the papers caused from the bulk of the ribbon.  I have to tell you, I was a helper at one of the Create-n-Takes at convention and to prepare for that CTMH sent me the kit a couple of weeks prior to the event.  They also sent me some extra goodies for helping.  One of the goodies were the small flip flaps.  It was soooooo tempting to use them here, as one of them was the perfect size, but I didn't want to risk being disqualified. ;)
More of my journalimg, as it appears when fully opened.

I'll be back tomorrow with layout #4.

Until then...
