Despite the fact that I had pinned numerous tag ideas over the past week or two, the design of my card popped in my head shortly before beginning working on my project. My first attempt involved embossing, but was a disaster. However, I skipped the embossing on my second attempt and added an additional tag with a stamped image. This is one of those projects that turned out even better than I had envisioned. :)

Can you believe that these papers come from two completely different paper packs?! Buzz and Bumble and Surf's Up. I was pleasantly surprised how well they worked together. I really wanted to try and mix some papers from different packs after being inspired by the video featuring CTMH's very own Kristine Widtfeldt, called Paper Panic Contest. You can check it out here. |
Supplies Used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted:
Paper: Buzz and Bumble, Surf's Up, Colonial White CS, Kraft CS, Cashmere CS
Stamps: Fabulous You
Stamps: Fabulous You
Inks: Desert Sand, Cocoa, Sorbet
Embellishments: Antique Gold Mini-medley, Brown and Tan Sparkles, Buzz and Bumble Assortment, Cashmere Baker's Twine (CTMH bulk)
Other: Art Philosphy Cricut Cartridge, Liquid Glass, Sponge, Bonding Memories Glue Pen, Bone Folder, Micro-tip scissors, 3D Foam Tape, Blending Pen, 1/4" Hole Punch (Fiskars), Paper Trimmer (Fiskars), ATG Adhesive (Scotch)
What will you create? To play along, just follow the "rules". All you have to do to play along is...
Until next time...
- Use mostly CTMH products
- Incorporate this week's challenge (TAGS)
- Link your project back to Heart 2 Heart from your blog post or online gallery. If you are linking from a blog, you must link directly to the actual post, not your entire blog.
- You also need to mention H2H in your blog post.
- Finally, we do ask that you consider turning off word verification, as it does make it easier (and less time consuming) for the design team to leave comments, as well as visitors to your blog. ;)
Don't have any CTMH products? That's an easy fix! Simply contact your local CTMH consultant (or go here to find one near you) or you can place an order by going to my website. If you'd like an Idea Book, you can either email me (if you're local) or simply use the Paypal button in the side bar.
TAG! You're it! Now I can't wait to see what you come up with. :) Until next time...
What a cool way to mix it up! Your papers and stamping are beautiful together, but I especially love the embellishment cluster.
ReplyDeleteThis card is FAB Tamytha! Great use of 2 paper packets, love the idea of multiple tags on your card and the layering and stacking of paper and embellishments is spot on. I give the teacher an A++
ReplyDeleteTamytha, This card is just absolutely amazing. I really love how you layered the different tags. I'm having fun mixing the paper packs, too. And...your embellishment cluster blew me away. Great job.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS CARD, Tamytha!!!
ReplyDeleteTotally love the embellishment cluster, Tamytha! Great idea mixing papers from different packs. I never think to do that so thank you for the inspiration! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove your card and the mix of papers is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love your mix of paper packs...I didn't even notice until you pointed it out! Your embellishment cluster is beautiful, and I love the kraft circles around the tag holes :)
ReplyDeleteI love your card Tamytha -- isn't it great when you can combine papers like that and it looks like they belong together? TFS :)

Totally love your cluster of embellies! What an amazing paper combo--who would have thunk? I agree with Jayma--LOVE the circles around the tag holes!!! Did you use marker or chalk for the coloring on the bird? Looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kigz! I used sorbet ink (on the inside of the lid) and the blending pen to color the bird.
DeleteI really love this card! You have so many little details that jump out at you the longer you look (gaze fondly, oogle, drool over) at it. I love the little sparkles you've added and your cluster is wonderful! I always struggle with that so I appreciate a good cluster! :) And I love the mix of papers you've chosen, really sets the tone of the card.
ReplyDeleteThanks Angela! :)
DeleteThis is my favorite card for this challenge, it is absolutely fantastic! It almost seems CAS at first, but then the added details with the stamping, the embellishment cluster, and bitty sparkles just really make it shine. I keep coming back to it and looking at it! I LOVE it, can you tell? :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel! That means alot coming from you. It's actually quite funny, as I had been so busy that week that I wasn't able to start on it until a few hours before the deadline. When I started I said to myself that I was just going to throw something together and that it wouldn't be as nice of a project as I usually try to do for H2H. It was a pleasant surprise how it turned out and an even bigger surprise at the feedback that I've received. It's been pinned like crazy and is already the fourth top post ever on my blog. So funny how things turn out. :)
