March's Stamp of the Month...."Floral Happiness"

Welcome to the CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!
March 2013's Stamp of the Month is called.....
****Floral Happiness****

The blog hop makes a circle so if you are starting here just continue until you make your way back and you will have made it through them all.  If you have already started and are coming from Laurie Newton's blog, "Scrap's from the Beach"then you are on the right track.

For my card, I was inspired by both this challenge at The Shabby Tea Room and this lovely card on Etsy.
I cut the zipper off of the Hollyhock zipper lace to add just a punch of deeper shade of pink.  It actually cut very nicely. :)
Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Chantilly, Kraft CS, White Daisy CS
Here's a look at the entire stamp set.

Remember, if you love what you've seen so far along your SOTM Blog Hop journey, and you want your own "Floral Happiness" stamp set or want to get it for the amazingly low price of $5, be sure to contact your Close To My Heart Independent Consultant.  If you don't already have a consultant, I'd love to be yours.  You can find details on the "Stamp of the Month" by clicking on the "Promotions" tab at the top of the page or purchase your SOTM here.  Of course, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

If you have time, take a moment or two to check out the rest of my blog.  If you enjoy your visit, then please consider "Following Me", signing up to receive blog updates, and/or leaving a comment (we all love comments...the nice ones anyway), then be sure to continue along on the hop by heading over to Angela Tutton's blog, "Tutton's Treasures" and check out her project.

If for some reason you get lost along the way, you can always find a list of all this month's CTMH SOTM Blog Hop participants on Kathleen's blog.

Happy hopping!

Tag, you're it!

The challenge at Heart 2 Heart Challenges this week is to make a tag or use a tag(s), in your project. There are so many ways to use tags.  Of course, you can create a stand-alone tag, or you can put tags on a scrapbook page, or make a mini-album out of tags, or put tags on a card like I did.  Really, the number of ways you can use tags is only limited by your imagination.

Despite the fact that I had pinned numerous tag ideas over the past week or two, the design of my card popped in my head shortly before beginning working on my project.  My first attempt involved embossing, but was a disaster.  However, I skipped the embossing on my second attempt and added an additional tag with a stamped image.  This is one of those projects that turned out even better than I had envisioned. :)
Can you believe that these papers come from two completely different paper packs?!  Buzz and Bumble and Surf's Up.  I was pleasantly surprised how well they worked together.  I really wanted to try and mix some papers from different packs after being inspired by the video featuring CTMH's very own Kristine Widtfeldt, called Paper Panic Contest.  You can check it out here.
Supplies Used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted:
Embellishments: Antique Gold Mini-medley, Brown and Tan Sparkles, Buzz and Bumble Assortment, Cashmere Baker's Twine (CTMH bulk)
Other: Art Philosphy Cricut CartridgeLiquid GlassSpongeBonding Memories Glue Pen, Bone FolderMicro-tip scissors, 3D Foam Tape, Blending Pen1/4" Hole Punch (Fiskars), Paper Trimmer (Fiskars), ATG Adhesive (Scotch)

What will you create? To play along, just follow the "rules".  All you have to do to play along is...
  1. Use mostly CTMH products
  2. Incorporate this week's challenge (TAGS)
  3. Link your project back to Heart 2 Heart from your blog post or online gallery.  If you are linking from a blog, you must link directly to the actual post, not your entire blog.
  4. You also need to mention H2H in your blog post.
  5. Finally, we do ask that you consider turning off word verification, as it does make it easier (and less time consuming) for the design team to leave comments, as well as visitors to your blog. ;)
Don't have any CTMH products?  That's an easy fix!  Simply contact your local CTMH consultant (or go here to find one near you) or you can place an order by going to my website.   If you'd like an Idea Book, you can either email me (if you're local) or simply use the Paypal button in the side bar.

TAG!  You're it! Now I can't wait to see what you come up with. :)

Until next time...

New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to the
2013 Spring/Summer New Product Blog Hop!

This special blog hop consists of 35 Close To My Heart consultants and even more projects that will both show off the the latest products from CTMH and inspire.  The hop makes a circle, so if you are starting here just continue until you make your way back and you will have made it through them all.  If you have already started and are coming from Terry Ann Diack's blog, "It's My Garage -- I Can Craft In It!"then you are on the right track.

I wanted to focus on my absolutely favorite crafting product...PAPER!!!!!  Ooooohhhhhhh, how I love paper!  It's my addiction.  I actually smell the paper when it first comes out of the package.  Is that weird?  LOL  So since I love paper so much, I created a few projects using several of the newest paper lines from Close To My Heart.

The first project is a purse cut from the Cricut Artiste and features the For Always paper line, as well as a new stamp set called Fabulous You.
The second project features the Tommy paper line and the stamp set, Sail Away.  Those cute little embellishments are our new Durables Artisan Studs.
The next project features Chantilly paper and both the Distressed Backgrounds and In the Background stamp sets.
The next two creations use Buzz and Bumble paper.  The standard size card also uses the new stamp set called Quick Card - Bumble Bee.  The smaller card is a card idea from CTMH for Home Gatherings.  My larger card was inspired by it.
I used more Chantilly paper to make the final two projects.  Both use the Hello Tweety stamp set. The small card is another card idea from CTMH for Home Gatherings.  Of course, other card is a take on it, but in a standard size.
If you would like your own Idea Book, just click on the Paypal button under the Idea Book picture in the left column.  It's $5 to ship it to you, but the idea book is free.  However, I include a $5 gift certificate good towards your first purchase of $25 or more.

Now it's time to continue along on the hop by heading over to Georgia Hauglid's blog, "Trust Your Crazy Ideas" and check out her project.

If for some reason you get lost along the way, you can always find a list of all Blog Hop participants on Kathleen's blog.

Happy hopping!

Home Decor at Heart 2 Heart

It's been two weeks since I posted for Heart 2 Heart.  Really?  I'll never get over how quickly time passes.  Now if the school year would just go by just as fast. :)

The challenge this week is to create a Home Decor project.  It's something that I definitely don't do enough of, so challenges like this is a perfect way to push me a little beyond my "norm".  I really don't have an excuse, because Close To My Heart makes it so easy.  Like the new Hinged Display Tray6x6 Canvas Display, and Canvas Art Workshop-on-the-Go Kit, as well as some tried and true products like the 12x12 Display Tray, the MyCreations Star, Bracket Frame and Collage Cubes.  The past home decor workshops are still available on my website, like the Scroll Album Kit, Advent Calendar and Spellbound Cricut Kit, though these will only be available on a 'while quantities last' basis.

My personal favorite CTMH tool to create home decor projects?  The Cricut Collections...Artiste and Art Philosophy!  It's chock full of 3D projects, including such wonderful accents as flowers and rosettes!  Just can't seem to get enough of those. :)

When deciding on what to make, I decided to go with my alternate Stamp of the Month project.  This month's SOTM lends itself so well to home decor, don't you think?  So I took a frame that I've had hanging empty in my craft room...yes...hanging AND empty...and chose to use it to frame one of the sayings in the SOTM set.  I then embellished it with a mat, flowers and leaves from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.
I used the Hello Tweety stamp set with second generation Whisper ink to add some interest to the White Daisy.
Gotta love the color-ready seam binding ribbon!  I created my own color ribbon by simply adding Buttercup ink to the ribbon with a sponge.  Doesn't get easier than that.  Also, I stamped the new Distressed Background on the flowers before rolling them.
