June's Stamp of the Month..."Kaboom"

Welcome to the CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!
June 2014's Stamp of the Month is called.....

With around 50 participants, you are surely to find wonderful inspiration through this blog hop.  It makes a circle so if you are starting here just continue until you make your way back and you will have made it through them all.  If you have already started and are coming from Michelle Stewart's blog, "My Creations with Michelle", then you are on the right track.

Boy have I ever been neglecting my blog the last several months. Between a very hectic school year, especially this last semester, I've also had some medical issues. I won't go into it today, as it's kind of a downer and the blog hop is supposed to be fun, right? On an up note, I've managed to lose 32 lbs. since March and I am feeling better than I have in a long while.

Yesterday was the last day of school and other than a couple of loose ends to tie up on Monday, I am free for the next two months. So I can't express to you how ready I am to create, create and create some more. I've been starving for creative time, as you may have figured from my lack of activity. Hopefully though this card will be the first of many creations to come in the next couple of months. :)

The card is pretty simple, but it's just as I planned. I invisioned random stamping and some masking, along with a border near the bottom. However, I didn't want to do a traditional red, blue, etc. color scheme...kinda what comes to mind when thinking of fireworks. So I found a color inspiration photo on Paper Playful that actually had fireworks in the photo, but had a very different color scheme. The challenge photo was for The Outlawz Challenges website.

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Papers: White Daisy CS, Black CS, Lagoon CS
Stamps Used: Kaboom SOTM
Inks: Black, Lagoon, Sunset, Hollyhock, Gypsy, Pear
Emellishments: Silver Shimmer Trim, Teal Shimmer Trim, Black Shimmer Trim
Other: Cricut Art Philosophy, 3D Foam Tape, Microtip Scissors, Scoring Board (Martha Stewart), Paper Trimmer (Fiskars),  ATG Adhesive (Scotch)

  1. Yippee!!! Schools out for summer!! (well almost)... I totally get how teaching in FL can suck the life out of you! I never taught summer school because I had to regroup during the summer vacation. Only those of us who have been a teacher can relate to the stress it causes! Part of the stress is in a weight gain - so good for you! in losing the weight. I wish you a relaxing and creative summer vacation! I do love your card and the colors are stunning!

  2. This is a very colourful card, love the finished product.

  3. LOVE the card! Great use of random stamping!

  4. Love the colors you used. Can almost hear the fireworks exploding.

  5. LOVE the colors!!! what fun, happy colors all with a bit of sparkle = perfect! :)

I appreciate you taking time out of your day to leave a comment. It means a lot to me. :) Thank you!
